Artist Statement

Roslyn Ramsay is a Canadian Visual Artist; who works mainly in Watercolour, Pastels and Charcoal mediums.

As a landscape artist, her love of nature and people are present in her work. Figurative landscapes often explore the interaction of people and their environment and her images are designed to challenge the viewer to look beyond. Water is a compelling element in her work and is skillfully explored with a fluid spontaneity.

The Pastel waterlily images explore her interest in design and colour patterns and contrast the reflective and transparent depths of water.

As a Portrait Artist; her challenge is to convey a persona that will portray a deeper understanding of her subject. She has painted over two hundred commissioned portraits for private and corporate clients; including Custom Leather Canada Ltd., JS Redpath Mining Ltd., and the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission.
